Welcome to our school’s web site.  As Principal of Hill City Elementary School, I would like to introduce myself.  I am Dr. Carlton Wilson.  I have had to privilege of serving as principal since we opened the school in August of 2002. I came to Pickens County in 1996 from teaching in Carroll County. After teaching and coaching at Pickens County Middle School, I served as an assistant principal at Jasper Primary School before opening Hill City Elementary.

I received my undergraduate degree in Business Management from Mercer University, my Master of Education in Education Leadership from West Georgia State University, and my Doctor of Education in Education Leadership from the University of Georgia.  I had the honor of being named 2007 Outstanding Educator by the Georgia Association of Educational Leaders.

I believe that Hill City Elementary School has the greatest staff of any school in Georgia. Our teachers care about each student and their success.  At HCES, we enjoy great parent support.  We welcome parents and volunteers in the school and in the educational process of all of our students.
